Emus are naturally inquisitive birds, and this one clearly wasn’t shy. For a moment, it held my stare, head tilted just slightly, as if trying to figure out what I was doing. It was a simple encounter, but it made for a striking photograph — face to face with one of Australia’s most iconic birds.
