Lion - South Africa

We were driving through the bushveld in South Africa when we spotted a small group of lions resting in some thick bushes. At first, it was just a subtle movement — the flick of an ear or a twitch of a tail that gave away their presence. From a distance, they were almost invisible, hidden among the foliage.

We stopped the vehicle and waited, keeping quiet and letting the lions settle into their surroundings. After a while, one of them slowly raised a massive paw and stretched, the motion long and deliberate. That was the moment I’d been waiting for — I raised my camera and captured the shot. It was a quiet, patient encounter, but that small movement brought the lions’ relaxed power vividly to life.
