Meerkat - Botswana

We woke up early to watch the meerkats as they emerged from their dens, starting their day and their search for food. One in particular paused and looked straight at us, clearly curious about the humans watching them.

The soft morning light gave everything a warm glow, and from my spot I could see every detail of its fur and alert posture. It was one of those quiet, simple moments — just a meerkat going about its day, with a little curiosity for the visitors nearby.
